Junior Gannon Tullos tackles the Golden Eagle running back for a small loss, the Panthers defense was electric and only allowed one score from Klein Forest.

Oak took to the field for the second time this year against division rivals Klein Forest Eagles as the Panthers looked to secure their first win of the season following the loss to Spring and the cancelation of the next two games.

“Going two weeks without football games was really sad especially considering it’s senior year,” senior standleader president Brenna Tinder said.

The defense started the first half hot by not allowing the Eagles to score in the first half and the Eagles responded by only permitting a field goal from the Panthers offense. However, the defense domination by the Eagles didn’t last long into the second half as the Panthers returned the Eagles kickoff for a touchdown.

The rest of the game came smoothly for the Panthers both offensively and defensively with the Panthers offense putting up a staggering 37 points while the Eagles had to settle for one touchdown.

Major highlights from last week’s game came from the duo running backs of senior Jamal Stephens and junior Charles Garret, who put up a combined 244-yards. While Stephens ran a notable 51-yard touchdown.

The Panther’s improvement to a 1-1 record concluded their commanding victory over the Eagles. Overall, the Panther defense played tremendously last week and the offense reciprocated hope to continue their dominance on the field against the Klein Cain Hurricanes on tonight at Klein Memorial Stadium as the visitors with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
