Family and Community Services is a class to take to be more involved, give back to the community, and follow through in a teaching pathway. Students can sign up for this class with schedule forms or by speaking to their counselor for an elective change.
For the two semester class, there is a $25 fee that goes towards craft supplies for students.
“This class instills great people skills [and] it teaches students different kinds of community services,” junior Madeline Hall said. “Whether it is direct or indirect, this class is super interactive and hands-on.”
Students participate in craft making activities that give back to the community. Past crafts include making shelter dog toys, t-shirt donations, and currently decorating lunch sacks for preschoolers.
“My favorite part of this class would definitely be the opportunity to give back to the community in a positive way,” senior Olivia Taylor said. “I would recommend this class to someone who loves crafting and giving back to those less fortunate.”
