Head coach gears up for season

With only a couple games down and a competitive district schedule ahead, Football Coach Branden Carpenter brings new life and new visions to his second year as head coach.

“We want to go back to playing with more tempo, a faster tempo of offense. It’s something we had done previously, but last year due to some different circumstances, we didn’t play with that same fast tempo,” Carpenter said. “We will also try to play with a faster tempo during drills and all other things.”

Coach Carpenter plans to implement other changes as well.

“Going into my second year as head coach I’ve been very fortunate through this last year to being able to bring in a lot of my own coaching staff. We had some coaching staff changes and it has allowed me really to get guys in here that I had either worked with previously or wanted to work with and never had the opportunity,” Carpenter said.

With wins already in the books this season, the Panthers are lined up to go into district ready for more success. The next game is against Klein Collins at Klein Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 23, with Oak as the visitors.
