Spring Game
Team previews talents, players for upcoming fall
Coming off a successful 10-3 season, Head Coach Jason Glenn and the Klein Oak Varsity Panther Football Team prepares to suit up one last time in their much-anticipated Spring Games.
The expectations for next year are set with quarterback junior Montrell Bolton with a new dual-threat in wide receiver and cornerback junior Dwight McGlothern.
Junior running back Drew Lewis will be leading the backfield with impressive sophomore Jamal Stephens and freshman Charles Garrett alongside him.
“I’m just trying to set the standard for the younger running backs and set the tone for the coming season,” said junior running back Drew Lewis. “I want to be an example for them to look up to so we can have the best backs in the state.”
With a new set of offensive linemen, the coaching staff is confident the players will protect Bolton in the backfield.
“I think we will be productive because the offensive line that were seniors left high expectations that our younger guys will have to meet,” Glenn said.
On the opposite side of the ball, linebacker junior Kaden Kleinert will call the shots with the help of his headline producing secondary in Dominick Morris, McGlothern and company. Also, 290 lb junior Dylan Scott will hold down the running game with the other linemen.
The Spring Games for all teams are Fri, May 24 but varsity is at 7:15 p.m. at the football field.
