The inclement weather days occurring January 16 and 17 resulted in the district canceling school and all school activities. The state did not grant the district a waiver to avoid making up the missed days. Because of the lengthening of the school days beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, one make up day has already been accounted for. Klein ISD has announced that they will be adding one minute to each school day beginning January 26 and continuing until the school year ends. Instead of school beginning at 7:25 A.M., it will now begin at 7:24 A.M. The extra minute will be added onto second period, with first ending one minute earlier. Only first and second periods will be affected while the third through seventh period will remain unchanged.
