Fresh out of college, Bryce Gaskey intends to fill big shoes as a replacement on the English team. As of Monday, Jan. 7th, Gaskey has taken the classroom by storm, grossing a majority of positive feedback from his students and colleagues.

“ [I] can be the bright side of a kid’s day or another bump in the road,” Gaskey said. “We can control only so much, [so] the environment needs to be welcoming.”

With his upcoming February birthday, the new teacher points out his belief that the age gap isn’t too much of a difference. This proves to be an advantage in his teacher-student relationships in the classroom, as he has a better understanding of student behavior. With all that being said, Gaskey strives to teach with a unique style. He helps to make an impact in his students’ lives even beyond college.

“The way I run my classroom is very student-centered,” Gaskey said. “I want to teach students not only the foundations of English but [skills] that go beyond college.”
