Question–
What do you do daily in order to help the school function efficiently?
Answer–
My office is located downstairs in the front office of the freshman wing. During each passing period, I monitor the hallways (downstairs) and encourage students to arrive to class on time. I try to be proactive as much as possible, preventing students from making poor decisions, and intervening when necessary. It is not uncommon for me to conference with students about how to handle situations appropriately. While Mr. Alexander and Mrs. Medearis handle most student discipline for 9th grade, I am in charge of attendance referrals.
In addition to this, I oversee clubs and organizations. Any students who are interested in initiating a club are welcome to come see me for help getting started.
Question–
How long have you been in your position?
Answer–
This is my fourth year at Klein Oak and my first year as Freshman Head Principal.
Question–
What college did you go to?
Answer–
University of Houston
Question–
What’s a little known fact about you? (ex. part of a band)
Answer–
After I graduated college, I worked at Clear Channel voicing over radio commercials. I only did this for a few months while I was waiting for my husband to return from a deployment to Iraq. Once he got back, we moved to Hawaii, where I lived for a year before I started teaching at Klein Intermediate School.
Question–
What’s something you do outside of school? (ex. hobby, volunteer, gardening, etc.)
Answer–
I spend LOTS of time with my family! My husband and I love playing with our daughter, Kate, who is almost 2 years old, so we are often at the park or in our playroom. We also like to shop for antiques, so you may see us out and about in Old Town Spring or Tomball.
