Question–
What do you do daily in order to help the school function efficiently?
Answer–
Administrators do all sorts of different things to ensure that each school day runs as smoothly as possible. Things that I do regularly include: monitoring hallways and common areas, observing classrooms to provide feedback to teachers, handling student disciplinary incidents, communicating with counselors, teachers, other administrators and parents regarding student concerns, and speaking with and mentoring students in need. But, every day is different! That’s what makes being an administrator so exciting.
Question–
How long have you been in your position?
Answer–
This is my fifth year as an Assistant Principal at Klein Oak. I previously worked as a teacher, technology specialist, and Assistant Principal in La Porte ISD.
Question–
What college did you go to?
Answer–
My undergraduate degree is from the University of Texas – Austin. I also have a Master of Education (Administration) degree from Lamar University and a law degree from the University of Houston.
Question–
What’s a little known fact about you? (ex. part of a band)
Answer–
I’m a huge music fan and enjoy playing guitar in my spare time. I don’t get to practice as much as I would like, but I still enjoy playing very much. I play acoustic guitar almost exclusively and love learning new songs (even if I can’t remember them after a few weeks!).
Question–
What’s something you do outside of school? (ex. hobby, volunteer, gardening, etc.)
Answer–
I enjoy spending time with my family (I have a 7 year old daughter), playing guitar, golf, poker, and watching college football. My Longhorns haven’t played so well over the past few years, but I can’t give up on them!
