Going off to college can be a life-changing decision, especially deciding where you go to school. All of this matters. It can be a lot of pressure to pick the perfect school, but some seniors who have asked the hard questions have found their answers.
Angel Gutierrez has found his forever school; he plans on attending the University Of North Texas (UNT) in the fall semester.
“I always liked UNT because of the green color, but once I visited the campus, I really liked the atmosphere, and I know a lot of people who are going, so I’ll a good community,” Gutierrez said.
He plans to major in engineering.
“I want to be an engineer because I like being able to work hands-on, and I don’t think a desk job is for me,” Gutierrez said.
Staying closer to home, Joseph Ryan plans to attend Texas A&M.
“I knew I wanted to go to A&M since I was little. I always liked how they have a really deep culture on campus and a lot of cool traditions,” Ryan said.
Ryan plans to major in engineering, and Texas A&M has the #10 engineering program in the country and number 1 in Texas, according to https://www.usnews.com/.
“I’ve always wanted to be an engineer and A&M is the best place for that to happen, It meets all my requirements for the school I want to commit to,” Ryan said.
Even though not everyone knows exactly what school they’re committing to, many Panthers have their list narrowed down tight.
Alyssa Dickerson knows she is bound for college but hasn’t quite put her finger on which one.
“I’m not committed yet, but Spelman College is the one I’m most interested in. It has a lot of diversity and like-minded people on the campus,” Dickerson said.
Dickerson aspires to be a doctor and major in chemistry. Spelman College is the #1 Historical Black College (HBCU) in America, according to https://www.usnews.com/
“The medical field seems like a good way to help people,” Dickerson said. “Medicine is a really hard field to commit to, but I think the challenge will push me to better.”
