The Food and Drug Administration and federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that teen vaping in the US had grown to epidemic levels due to advertising. Since 2019, the companies producing and marketing the product have been forced to avoid targeting teen buyers to stay in compliance with state and federal laws prohibiting the use of the products by minors.

After the opening, the Barbie movie success surpassed Oppenheimer, becoming the largest grossing movie of 2023 earning $575 million domestically and $1.3 billion internationally. It also became the 14th highest grossing movie of all time.
