Dearly Departed
November 9, 2015
The Theatre Arts Department is currently in the works on a production of the play Dearly Departed. In stark contrast to the darker themes of the last play, 12 Angry Jurors, Dearly Departed is a comedy revolving around the Turpin family after the head of the family Bud Turpin, portrayed by junior Andrew Brown, dies at the kitchen table. Set in the Deep South, the play often presents its characters as caricatures of the religiously devout. The kooky relationships and situations of the family (played by junior Guinevere Govea, senior Benton Burnett and junior Camille Sterns) are sure to entertain. The play will be on November 6th, 7th, and 9th in the Klein Oak Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at www.kleinoaktheatre.org as well as at the doors.
